In 2055, the Slovak NGO Platform ordered a study called "The study of volunteering, its system in Slovakia and other selected countries of the EU, Canada and its integration into development and humanitarian aid" (to be found in the Downloads section).

The study thoroughly elaborates on the issue of volunteering as a whole, its system and legislative framework in Slovakia and other countries in the EU. Moreover, it talks about the system of sending volunteers to developing countries, and offers recommendations in terms of integration into the volunteer system in the realm of development and humanitarian aid and informs the organizations that provide this activity in Slovakia. In the final part of the study you can find useful links to Slovak and world organizations and institutions engaged in volunteering. Despite the fact that the study was prepared in 2005, it is regrettable that Slovakia has not regulated voluntary service yet.
