About the project

The three-year Regional Partnership Programme (RPP – Regional Partnership Programme) during 2005 – 2008 was initiated by platforms of non-governmental organizations from Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia. It was a first cross-boarder project of this kind in Europe. Its main goal was to improve organizational capacities in project preparation skills, highlight development topic in new EU member states. Through an established fund pilot development projects were also financed in which Austrian non-governmental organizations cooperated with non-governmental organizations from new member countries.

Program was financed by Austrian Development Agency (ADA) - 70% of the whole budget, Ministries of Foreign Affairs of participating countries - 20% of the budget and non-governmental organizations - 10%. In the case of Slovakia the program was financed from sources of official development assistance (Slovak Aid).

Coordination on the national level was secured by national project managers from national organizations in every participating country; final coordination of the project was secured by a project manager from Austria.
