About the project

The aim of the 3-year project (July 2006 - June 2009) called "Building support in Slovakia and Austria for reaching the Millennium Development Goals" was to enable civil society actors to engage in the fight against global poverty and to strengthen public and political commitments to reaching the Millennium Development Goals. The target groups consist of Austrian and Slovak decision makers (officials and parliamentarians), the wider public (targeted through the media and the non-formal and formal education systems). The project adresses two development issues. One is the role of national and EU policies and finance in the fight against poverty and the second one is the issue of financing the Millennium Development Goals.

• lobbying and alliance building with national and EU parliamentarians, and relevant ministries,
• production of articles about the Development aid and the Millennium Development Goals
