About the project

The main objective of this one year project (March 2008 - February 2009) was to support capacity building, technical and operational background of Slovak non-governmental organizations platform (NGDO Platform). This support is focused on the process of completing the management and operating structure of NGDO Platform, with a view to reengineering its coordination activities, to strengthen its role in the representation of membership non-governmental organizations in Slovak and international developing structures.

The project's overall objectives:

• To reinforce mutual co-operation insideNGDO Platform and with its nearest partners, to enhance the effectiveness of information exchange, know-how and organization of common actions within the context of Slovak Official Development Assistance (ODA) commitments. .
• To promote public awareness in the Slovak Republic with respect to solidarity and mutual help in the close collaboration with partners on Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic , with Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation (Slovak Aid),decision-makers, opinion-makers, politicians, journalists etc.
• To strengthen external relations NGDO Platform and its active membership in european structures. Year 2008 is devoted to active participation in activities within the working groups of international european networks CONCORD and TRIALOG.

Capacity building of NGDO Platform, reinforcement of its organizational and technical potential has significant effect from long-term view, to get on with all activities of NGDO Platform and its membership organizations, through the meaningful, concrete projects and humanitarian help in developing countries.
