The aim of the project is to raise public awareness about promotion and protection of fundamental human rights and liberties in the realm of development and humanitarian assistance carried out by Slovak actors. Particular focus is placed on the rights of children, vulnerable groups and minorities and persons with disabilities.
Project duration: July 2011- December 2012.

About the project

The main objective of this project is to create a framework for coordination and advocacy capacities of the Slovak NGDO Platform. Capacity building and organizational security of PMVRO is aimed at supporting the PMVRO executive unit capacities, the work of expert groups during preparation of effective system for Slovak ODA; providing space for participation in activities which are connected with preparation of strategic documents and public awareness about Slovakia's official development assistance.

About the project

A 3 year project (February 2008 - January 2011) seeks to strengthen the role of Central European countries within the context of European development aid and international politics. The second goal is to engage the public with issues about the developing world and stimulate debate on development cooperation. This new project is spearheaded by the Czech NGO People in Need along with four other organizations from new EU member states and the European Journalism Centre.

About the project

This project mobilizes the CSO platforms to jointly increase awareness among Visegrad policy makers, CSOs and media
about essential attributes of genuine ODA. Further, it will make recommendations for more effective ODA on the V4
level ahead of the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness (HLF-4) organized by OECD/DAC, where decisions are to
be made on the global development agenda for the next decade. The project lasts from January 2011 until December 2011.

About the project

Project “Support of Capacity Building of Slovak NGDO Platform II.: strong partnership for development continues“ followed the successful project from previous year, due to which could the Slovak NGDO Platform successfully implement development projects, coordinate and manage activities of its membership, cooperate with Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of parliament and play active role in European network CONCORD. Duration of the project: May 2009- July 2010.

About the project

The main objective of this one year project (March 2008 - February 2009) was to support capacity building, technical and operational background of Slovak non-governmental organizations platform (NGDO Platform). This support is focused on the process of completing the management and operating structure of NGDO Platform, with a view to reengineering its coordination activities, to strengthen its role in the representation of membership non-governmental organizations in Slovak and international developing structures.

About the project

The aim of the 3-year project (July 2006 - June 2009) called "Building support in Slovakia and Austria for reaching the Millennium Development Goals" was to enable civil society actors to engage in the fight against global poverty and to strengthen public and political commitments to reaching the Millennium Development Goals. The target groups consist of Austrian and Slovak decision makers (officials and parliamentarians), the wider public (targeted through the media and the non-formal and formal education systems). The project adresses two development issues. One is the role of national and EU policies and finance in the fight against poverty and the second one is the issue of financing the Millennium Development Goals.

Projekt bol zameraný na zvyšovanie potenciálu slovenských mimovládnych rozvojových organizácií a budovanie kapacít v rámci manažmentu programov na vysielanie dobrovoľníkov do menej rozvinutých krajín. Cieľom bolo prispieť k vybudovaniu permanentnej a stabilnej podpory programov na vysielanie dobrovoľníkov zo Slovenska. Trvanie projektu: marec 2010 – marec 2011.

About the project

The three-year Regional Partnership Programme (RPP – Regional Partnership Programme) during 2005 – 2008 was initiated by platforms of non-governmental organizations from Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia. It was a first cross-boarder project of this kind in Europe. Its main goal was to improve organizational capacities in project preparation skills, highlight development topic in new EU member states. Through an established fund pilot development projects were also financed in which Austrian non-governmental organizations cooperated with non-governmental organizations from new member countries.
