About the project

The main objective of this project is to create a framework for coordination and advocacy capacities of the Slovak NGDO Platform. Capacity building and organizational security of PMVRO is aimed at supporting the PMVRO executive unit capacities, the work of expert groups during preparation of effective system for Slovak ODA; providing space for participation in activities which are connected with preparation of strategic documents and public awareness about Slovakia's official development assistance.
Duration of the project: June 2010- June 2011.

Summary of main objectives and outputs of the project:

Slovak NGDO Platform is focusing on a wide spectrum of activities connected to the development topic.  In this project, the primary objective is to focus on three basic goals:

• Provision of expert statements, testimonials and suggestions during the preparation of key documents and concepts for official development assistance of SR. The Slovak NGDO Platform will provide not only expert capacities but will also focus on analyzing the results of Slovak development assistance and map the capacities and human resources (experts/consultants)  who can be capitalized on in the Slovak ODA.
• Realization of expert dialogue with the decision makers in development policy in order to increase the quality of official development assistance of SR. PMVRO will support building of national capacities in the area of development cooperation through education activities .
• Gaining the support of public and decision makers in the field of development assistance, raising public awareness with the focus on solidarity and mutual cooperation. The Slovak NGDO Platform will create activities to increase public awareness about the neccessity of development assistance, about the results of SlovakAid program also outside of the capital city, gaining support and interest of decision makers in Slovakia's official development assistance (ODA) and building relations with the media in order to improve the presentation of Slovak ODA in the public. The main aim of Platform is to inform about news in the area of development cooperation for expert and general public through all the available information channels.
