Characteristics of the organization:
A nonprofit organization which provides generally beneficial services in the area of development, protection, renewal and presentation of spiritual and cultural values as well as in the area of research and development, science and technology and IT services. Its primary focus is on global education and development cooperation. Since 2008, it is a full member of KARAT Coalition and since 2009 a member of the association of the History Network for Young Europeans EUSTORY AISBL. Since 2009 it also has an observer status in the Platform of nongovernmental organizations. In January 2010 it has also established the Information centre of global education which is a specialized public library with information desk and a particular focus on global issues.
Activities:
• implementation of development projects in countries of the former Eastern bloc • support of global education in Slovakia • publication activities • coordination of events aiming to raise public awareness of the problems of the developing world.
Development and humanitarian cooperation:
- • Best Family Friendly Enterprise- a development initiative in Ukraine
• Rice from Uzgen- a development project in Kirgizstan applying a poverty reduction strategy through support of traditional agricultural activity in southern Kirgizstan • Connect! Building Support in New Member States for Gender Sensitive and Responsive European Development Cooperation- a project focusing on development of an active dialogue between the East, West and South, fostering a connection which is not very common in development cooperation as a whole • Providing education and training for women and girls of ethnic Kyrgyz in Afghanistan- development project currently at the approval stage: in spring 2009 it was accepted by UNESCO and was sent for further consideration to Paris
