Description:

UNICEF was created to help children affected by the Second World War. Later, its scope expanded, and today it helps the most vulnerable children worldwide. Within the development and humanitarian assistance it cares for survival and development of children, promotes their rights and attracts attention to their compliance.
While UNICEF is the UN organization, it has a specific position - is the only United Nations fund, which is neither funded by the UN, nor has assigned a fixed budget item from the state budget. Our work to help children is entirely dependent on voluntary contributions from individuals, corporations and other donors. UNICEF is funded purely by voluntary contributions. In 1965, UNICEF received the Nobel Peace Prize for millions of saved children lives and promotion of brotherhood among people.

Week of blue button 2011
The third week of May is already for the 7th year the time for collection of Week of blue button designed to help the most vulnerable and children worldwide. This year together we help children in Southern Sudan in order to go to school. For children who have experienced war, hunger and hardship, an elementary education is a chance to defeat poverty and live healthier lives. They learn not only read, write and count, but also skills for life: for example, hygiene and health care as vaccinations or breastfeeding learn about the dangers of landmines and HIV / AIDS and how to avoid them. With your support exceptional children can also grow in Southern Sudan.
