Description:
Foundation Pontis is follower of subsidiary The Foundation for a Civil Society that was working in Slovakia under the name Nadácia pre občiansku spoločnosť. The main aim of this foundation is strengthen democracy by increasing public awareness and exchange of experiences in Slovakia and abroad.
Foundation is implementing project in three main areas:
• Support of long- term financial sustainability non- governmental organizations, its institutional strengthen and organizational development in Slovakia and abroad.
• Development of company’s philanthropy and promotion of responsible enterprise companies in Slovakia and obroad
• Individual and civil society support in countries that are under dictatorship or that are under the transformation process to democracy.
Activities:
• Implementation of development and democratic projects in countries under dictatorship and in countries that are going through the process of transformation of society
• Implementation of cooperative projects of non- governmental organizations and enterprise sector, and development of philanthropy in Serbia
• Exchange of know-how and experiences with EU integrative process in Serbia
• Direct support of domestic experts who are preparing reform of public politics in Belarus
• Support of non- governmental sector in program countries (Serbia, Belarus)
• Public fund- raising help aimed to families of Cuban political prisoners
• Publication of analysis, monitoring, evaluation reports, and researches about all program countries
• Education about global development and development help
• Promotion of values of Slovak politics
