History

After joining the OECD in 2000, Slovakia was included among the donor countries. The resolution of the Slovak government no.727/1996 imposed to the Department of Home Affairs to build management and coordination centre for the provision and receiving of humanitarian aid.The section of crisis management and civil defense became the the national contact and coordination centre for provision and receiving of humanitarian aid.

On the reform of Slovak system of humanitarian aid has been worked since 2003, however, this purpose gained its broader support after the tsunami tragedy in Asia. Since 2006 has Slovakia New conception of Humanitarian aid.
