Welcome to NGDO Platform new website

The NGDO Platform is an association of corporate bodies – it is an umbrella organization of the Slovak non-governmental organizations (23 proper members and 8 observers) which deal mainly with international development and humanitarian assistance.

The Platform’s objective is:

  • to be directly involved and participate in the field of foreign development co-operation and politics of the Slovak Republic, the European Union and other institutions aimed at development in less developed countries;
  • to contribute to the process ofawareness raising among people living in the Slovak Republic about solidarity and mutual assistance and thus contribute to addressing poverty, lack of freedom and humanitarian crises in the World;
  • to provide its members with opportunities for development and professional growth

The activities of the Platform are mainly:

  • to represent common interests of the Platform’s members in the field of international development and humanitarian aid, local and foreign co-operations;
  • to foster information flow concerning current development in international development and humanitarian aid and co-operation, and information about opportunities of the Platform's members
  • to co-ordinate common activities and projects of the Platform's members;
  • to co-operate with state administration bodies, self-government bodies and other entities in the field of international development cooperation and humanitarian aid;
  • to pursue active co-operation with foreign entities in the field of development assistance;
  • to help with training of the members and the public, influencing public opinion;
  • to pursue publishing and editorial activities
